We are thrilled to announce that Holwood Farm Shop has been named ‘Best New Business in Bromley’ in the annual Bromley Business Awards, just one year after it opened. Gary Mercer and Sarah Clout from Holwood Farm Shop at Downe received their award in front of an audience of 150 guests in an Oscar-style award ceremony hosted by LBC radio presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer.

After the ceremony, Gary said, “This means so much.  When Sarah and I bought Holwood Farm four years ago it was derelict and the barn that now houses the farm shop was fit only for pigeons. We carried out a painstaking renovation and finally opened a year ago. It’s been amazing. The farm shop’s thriving and becoming a real hub of local food and drink. The award is the cherry on the cake and recognises the hard work of everyone involved in establishing our new business. Customers, friends, staff and local businesses – we want to thank them all.”

The awards, now in their third year, reward large and small businesses from throughout the borough of Bromley. They are organised by Prospects Business Support in association with main sponsor London Biggin Hill Airport. The ceremony was held at the Warren, Metropolitan Police Social Club, Hayes, on Thursday 17 October.
